Every adult in Girl Scouting is responsible for the physical and emotional safety of girls, and we demonstrate that by agreeing to follow these standards at all times. (Note: See Volunteer Essentials for details on each standard.)
Safety Activity Checkpoints
As well, when preparing for any activity with girls, always begin with the Safety Activity Checkpoints written specifically for that particular activity. Note: In addition to reading these checkpoints yourself, you can also e-mail to or print them for co-volunteers, parents/guardians, and girls.

Additional Badges and Patches
The Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming has a number of badges and patches that are specific to Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming. Girls may complete requirements to earn these recognitions throughout the year.
Outstanding Troop Patch: Some troops go above and beyond in their commitment to Girl Scouting, Those troops are eligible to earn the Outstanding Troop Patch. Troops meeting the requirements will earn the patch with continuing excellence being recognized with a star segment. The Outstanding Troop Patch can be earned by Daisies – Ambassadors. Honey of A Troop Badge: Service is a way of thinking and doing and that is the focus of the Honey of a Troop Badge. Girls participating in Community Service in the following areas – Service to Girl Scouting, Service to Your Community and Service to Others – are eligible to earn the Honey of a Troop Bee Hive. Continuing service will earn the Honey of a Troop Bees. The Honey of A Troop Badge can be earned by Daisies – Ambassadors. Download requirements.
Blue Ribbon Award: Parent/Guardian involvement is necessary for Girl Scouting to be its most effective. With that in mind, GSMW offers the Blue Ribbon Award for girls who parent/guardian is actively involved in her Girl Scout experience. The Blue Ribbon Award patch is earned the first year and each subsequent year a small Blue Ribbon segment is earned. The Blue Ribbon Award can be earned by Daisies – Ambassadors. Seasonal Segments Patches: Girl Scouting happens all year round. Girl Scout troops are encouraged to stay involved and participate in the monthly themes offered by GSMW by earning the Seasonal Segments patch. Girls can earn the segments by participating in a monthly theme for each season – Spring is March, April, May; Summer is June, July, August; Autumn is September, October, November; Winter is December, January, February. Participate all year long to earn the entire patch set. The Seasonal Segments can be earned by Daisies – Ambassadors. Download requirements.
State of Montana Badge: Learn more about the great state of Montana by completing the requirements for this earned award. The State of Montana recognition can be earned by Brownies – Ambassadors. Girls will learn history, geography and more all focused on the state of Montana. Download requirements.
State of Wyoming Badge: Learn more about the great state of Wyoming by completing the requirements for this earned award. The State of Wyoming recognition can be earned by Brownies – Ambassadors. Girls will learn history, geography and more all focused on the state of Wyoming. Download requirements.
American Sign Language Badge: Explore American Sign Language and earn the ASL earned award. The American Sign Language recognition can be earned by Daisies – Ambassadors. Girls will learn how to sign, learn about careers in the ASL field and more. Download requirements.
Geocaching Badge: Geocaching is an exciting exploration game using a Global Positioning Satellite (GPS). The Geocaching recognition can be earned by Brownies – Ambassadors. Girls will learn the history of the game, participate in a geocache game, learn how to use a GPS, etc. Download requirements.
