UPDATE: Preorders are now being accepted for the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting. Visit the Council Shop page for details.

Girl Scouts of the USA is in the process of introducing new and revised program resources, with the goal of a Movement-wide transition to the new resources by September 2012.

What do you do between now and September? It’s Your Story-Tell It!–the newest journey series–is available for purchase as of December 2010. This is in addition to the It’s Your Planet – Love It! and It’s Your World – Change It! Journeys currently available. Girls can enjoy the leadership Journeys in any order they choose!

The Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting, the new badge and handbook series, will be available for purchase beginning fall 2011. GSMW expects to have the Guide in October, and will be accepting pre-orders shortly.

All other Girl Scout books and resources will gradually be retired and are on sale now in our store.

What about badges? Badges are here to stay. Badges give girls specific skill-building activities, an important part of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. In the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting, GSUSA will unveil a new line of badge for Brownies to Ambassadors, and new content for Daisies to enjoy as they earn their petals. The new badges will offer a great mix of tradition, variety, fun, and challenge–a combination of contemporary topics of interest to girls and long-time favorite activities.

If girls are currently working on badges, they have until September 2012 to complete those. For the 2010 membership year, girls will finish up their badges already begun and have a whole new set of badges to consider!

With the Journey of her choice, girls explore the three keys to leadership, and The Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting, which focuses on building skills through earning badges, offer a focus on one topic of her choosing. Beginning this Fall, girls will have an exciting new resource: The Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting.

Watch for more information on the Girl’s Guide, to be presented at Fall Kick-Off events throughout the council in the Fall.
