Get Set to be a Vet-Casper (Grades K-8)

Are you an animal lover? If so, this program is for you! Pets are beloved friends and it is important to keep them safe. During this exciting program girls will take a tour with a veterinarian and put together a first aid kit for their own pet. Dogs, cats, fish, or turtles - your pet is your best friend. Girls will take a tour of the clinic and see what it is veterinarians do to help keep animals healthy. Along the tour girls will see exam rooms, learn what to do if their pet breaks a bone, eats something they shouldn't, and the importance of taking your animal friend to an annual check-up.

This program is for the animal enthusiast or any girl interested in a career in the veterinary field. Girls will get a peek behind the scenes of an animal health center. They will learn about pet safety and care. Each girl will be able to design a first aid kit with a couple essential items. Also, girls will learn the importance of coming up with a plan for your pet during an emergency.

Megan Okes, a local veterinarian, will help the girls put together a first aid kit for their pet and come up with an emergency plan. The girls will be able to take their first aid kits home and share all they learned with friends and family.
