Just for Kix-Helena (Grades 2-5)
Have you ever heard music and discovered you just can't keep still? That you want to get up and dance? If so, this two-week, 4 session (2 each Saturday) introduction to dance is perfect for you! This event is a two part series. When you register, you will be registering to attend both dates - January 11 and January 25. Bring a friend, wear comfortable clothes and learn how to jete, pirotte and hip hop like the pros!
Here is a chance for girls to try out dance classes in a fun and exciting series and decide which style they like best! Each session features a different dance style: International Dance, Jazz, Hip Hop and Yoga/Stretch Tumbler. Girls will be taught by a professional dance instructor from Diane's Dance Works. Instruction will focus on the basics of each style, so no experience is required!
On each Saturday the girls will do a one hour dance session, break for lunch, then do another one hour dance session.
Girls will need to wear sweat pants, a one piece swimsuit or leotard (something that will cover their upper bodies when they are standing on their hands), and have their hair pulled back. There is a water fountain on location but they are welcome to bring their own water bottles. Girls will need to bring a sack lunch as one will not be provided.
'Recruit a Friend:' Girls can make this event even more memorable by bringing their best NON-Girl Scout friends too! Show them how much fun they can have as a Girl Scout and share this wonderful experience together! Earn a 'Recruit a Friend' patch for each new Girl Scout. The friend will need to register with GSMW and pay the program fee by the registration deadline in order to participate.
