Winter Olympics Cross Country Skiing 2-Whitefish (Grades 4-12)
In honor of the 2014 Winter Olympics, Girl Scouts of MT & WY is hosting winter sports programs to promote healthy living and outdoor adventure! Attend two GSMW 'Winter Olympics' programs and earn a 'Girl Scout Gold Medal'. Check www.gsmw.org for more Winter Olympics programs. This program is open to 4-12 graders and registered adults. If you are in grades K-3, look at 'Winter Olympics Cross Country Skiing 1' on January 25th.
Glacier Cyclery and Nordic Center, located at the Whitefish Lake Golf Course, is hosting the Girl Scouts of MT & WY for an awesome day of cross country skiing. At 1PM girls will meet in the Nordic Center. From there, everyone will try on their ski gear. (Please note that the cost of the event includes rental equipment). After that, participants will take a 1.5 hour lesson followed by open ski for as long as you like until 4PM. The Nordic Center is open until 5:30PM, so arrange adult supervision if you would like to let your girls ski until closing. Girl Scouts will only provide supervision until 4PM.
The group lessons arranged for this event are open to registered Girl Scouts and registered adults. Adults who are registered Girl Scouts members and who register for this event can attend this event, but there are only five available spots for adults because of the availability of rental equipment and instructors.
To get to the Nordic Center, just travel one mile west of downtown along Highway 93 West. If you are willing to volunteer to check girls in and out, please call Sarah at 1.800.736.5243 x2306. You don't have to participate in the skiing to help with check-in. We appreciate and thank you for your help!
This event is open to girls in grades 4-12 and supervising adults.
Registration deadline: January 24
