Winter Olympics Skiing-Missoula (grades K-12)
In honor of the 2014 Winter Olympics, Girl Scouts of MT & WY is hosting winter sports programs to promote healthy living and outdoor adventure! Attend two GSMW 'Winter Olympics' programs and earn a 'Girl Scouts Gold Medal'. Check www.GSMW.org for more Winter Olympics programs.
This program is for girls of all abilities who want to sharpen their ski skills and have an affordable, fun time at Montana Snowbowl. Girls will learn some basic ski principles, and more advanced skiers will get to challenge themselves with new skills.
At 9AM, participants need to check-in with the Girl Scouts volunteer in the main lodge. From there, they will meet their instructors and head to the rental shop. Girls will attend a two-hour lesson and then they can have the rest of the day to ski with their friends. Girl Scouts will ensure adult supervision until 12PM, but girls are welcome to stay and ski until 4PM. Please arrange a meeting time and place with your girls for after the program.
The program fee covers the lesson, rentals, helmets, and lift tickets. A snack bar with a grill and beverages is also available. Girls may choose to pack a lunch or bring up to $10 for warm food and warm drinks. This event is open to girls in grades 2-12 and supervising adults.
