Girls Design Your Future!-Billings(Grades 2-8)

Ever wondered how a skyscraper can be build with 100 floors and doesn't fall over? Join us for an introduction to the exciting field of architecture and then participate in hands on activities that will have you reaching new heights!

So what does an architect do? Architects design all kinds of buildings. They design schools and stadiums, hospitals and hotels. They also design churches, train stations and plain old regular houses. Any building that is used by people was probably designed by an architect. Okay then, but what does the word 'design' mean? A design is simply a plan. Before constructing a building, an architect needs to draw a plan of the building. Sometimes architects will make a cardboard or plastic model of the building.

This program will inspire girls to see the art in architecture as well as the science. The MSU School of Architecture, will be hosting the program with current women graduate students and faculty and graduates of their program. The women are working in the field of architecture in the state of Montana and can't wait to do some hands on activities with you!

Sign up today today to learn about architecture and to meet some amazing women in this field! Not a Girl Scout yet? Not a problem! Register today and you too can enjoy this exciting program.
