All About Pets! Program-Green River (K-12)

Are you an animal lover? If so, this program is for you! Pets are beloved friends and it is important to take good care of them. Girls will have a Q&A session with a veterinarian and participate with Sweetwater County Animal Response Team in a 'Build-a-Bucket' first aid kit for their own pet. Dogs, cats, fish, or turtles - your pet is your best friend. Girls will hear all about what it is like to be a veterinarian, and see what it is veterinarians do to help keep animals healthy. Afterwards, girls will go downstairs and participate in the 'Build-a-Bucket' event hosted by the Sweetwater County Animal Response Team.

This program is for the animal enthusiast, pet lover, and any girl interested in a career in the veterinary field. Girls will get a picture of what it is like to work with pets and animals for a career. They will learn about pet safety and care. Girls will learn the importance of coming up with a plan for your pet during an emergency, and what kinds of items should be part of an emergency first aid kit.

Tiffany Reed, a local veterinarian, will talk about the veterinary field and animal safety.  The Sweetwater County Animal Response Team will help girls put together a first aid kit for their pet. The girls will be able to take their first aid kits home and share all they learned with friends and family.

  • Determine the number of adults to meet the girl/adult ratio.
  • Allow time to order materials and badges needed.
  • Decide if registration numbers meet the minimum required to hold the program.
  • Have time to mail confirmation letters or cancellation letters.
