Rafting & Island Exploration #1 - Helena - area (4-12)

Come experience the rugged beauty of Montana by river and learn river awareness while focusing on team building and having FUN! Girls and adults will enjoy the waters of the Missouri in a raft, paddling through the leisurely flowing river and navigating curious rapids. Throughout the journey, participants will have the opportunity to do some hiking on shore and island hopping, combined with an environmental service as we abide by the rule of 'leaving a place better than we find it' by keeping our eyes open for trash and other harmful debris.

Participation in outdoor recreation helps build confidence, relieves stress, and helps create environmental awareness. Students are encouraged to develop critical thinking skills and create new problem-solving strategies and decision-making skills. Adventure builds confidence, enhances creativity, and inspires spiritual growth. In addition to personal development, people involved in nature-based activities are more likely to be knowledgeable and caring about environmental issues.

You will need to provide the following: your swimsuit, dry clothes, towel, sunscreen, hat, water bottle, sack lunch, snack and tennis shoes - no flip flops. (More info will be provided in a confirmation letter.)

RECRUIT A FRIEND AND EARN A PATCH! If you have a friend that would like to check out the fun of 'high adventure' Girl Scouting, this would be an ideal event to come to!Non-Scouts must also register as a Girl Scout with the additional $12 fee for insurance purposes.

*Please note that there is a maximum of 14 participants (combined girls and adults) for this program.

This event is open to girls in grades 4-12, friends, family, and supervising adults.
