Free Nordic Ski Series-Red Lodge (Grades K-6)

Beartooth Recreation and Trails Association offers beginning nordic ski lessons to kids age 5 to 12 scheduled for January/February 2013. Beginning classes are for new skiers or second year children that need to refresh their skills. This is a series of four lessons that last 1.5 hours. The lessons are progressive; classes are not repeated each Saturday. The instructors use games to teach and as a means of creating fun while learning a skill.

Note: This is not a 'drop off' program. Parents will be asked to volunteer with program tasks, be assistants in the classes and be available for recovery. Lessons may be offered for parents as well. Remember, you don't want your kids to ski better than you!

This is not a Girl Scout of Montana and Wyoming Girl Scout Council event but one we thought girls and their parents may want to take advantage of. You must register through the Red Lodge Nordic Center contact: Elise Fouts: or at 406-425-3065. Please do not send registrations to the council.

The Red Lodge Nordic Center will close registration on January 12, 2013.
Sylvan Peak in Red Lodge and Billings Cycle Shops also rent kids and adult ski equipment.

Program registration deadlines are extremely important for our council.

Knowing the number of girls attending our programs in advance helps us:
  • Determine the number of adults to meet the girl/adult ratio.
  • Allow time to order materials and badges needed.
  • Decide if registration numbers meet the minimum required to hold the program.
  • Have time to mail confirmation letters or cancellation letters.

Visit our FAQs page for information on refunds and other policies.
