Winter Survival and Snow Fun-Casper (Grades 4-12)
A wonderful world of discovery awaits you atop Casper Mountain. Girls will learn winter survival skills as well as play in the snow at this overnight event. Don't let the cold and snow keep you inside! If learning winter survival skills and playing in the snow and drinking hot chocolate interests you, come join other girls in experiencing fun winter activities at this overnight event. The winter months offer a snowy playground for girls to learn survival skills for living in snow country.
This February 16-17 at Camp Sacajawea girls are invited to participate in a number of winter activities: build a snow shelter with friends, experience a winter cook out, snowshoe through the trees, learn all about avalanches and snow science too.
Being outside will work up an appetite so food will be provided. Adventurers will stay over night at Camp Sacajawea in comfortable yurts located next to the main lodge.
Wyoming winters can be cold, so in order to keep everyone safe and warm at this event there will be a preparation class on what to bring and what layers will be the most effective to keep the cold out and the warm in. This information session will be offered in person in Casper and also on an evening webinar for girls who will be traveling from other locations. Dates and times will be provided to those who register.
Register now for the 2nd Annual Winter Survival event at Camp Sacajawea and enjoy new experiences in the outdoors. Bring along a friend and show her how much fun Girl Scouting can be!
This event is open to girls in grades 4-12 and supervising adults.
