Girl Scouts in the News

GS Troop 2228 worked with the VFW and the Daughter’s of the American Revolution to provide a flag ceremony at Alkali Creek School this afternoon (in Billings). One of the teachers, Bonnie Casey, noticed that the flag was fading and the edges were frayed, so she worked with her son who is in the military, to provide 2 flags to the school. The flag outside the school was on a military mission in Afghanistan to rescue ground forces. The second flag (will be displayed inside the¬†school) flew over a US base in Afghanistan. Sgt Ryan Casey attended school at Alkali Creek in the 5th and 6th grade and he carried the flags with him back to Billings for the special ceremony. The ceremony was an excellent learning experience for the students at Alkali Creek School and showcased Troop 2228 – great job girls!
