Silver Award

Highest Award for Girl Scout Cadettes in grades 6 – 8

The Girl Scout Silver Award represents a girl’s accomplishments in Girl Scouting and her community as she grows and works to improve her life and the lives of others. A girl must be in grades 6-8 to begin on her Girl Scout Silver Award project.

The requirements of the Girl Scout Silver Award help girls build skills, explore careers, gain leadership skills, and make a commitment to self-improvement. The Girl Scout Silver Award Project can be undertaken when the prerequisites are completed. It can be done as an individual or with a group. If done with a group, a girl must be responsible for a specific part of the project and evaluate her contribution to the project and the group.

All Silver Awards completed after September 30, 2011 must be earned using the Journey prerequisites. All requirements for the Silver Award must be met before the girl moves up to Girl Scout Seniors. The Silver Award Report form must be submitted to council headquarters to purchase the Girl Scout Silver Award insignia.
